NOFSW Conference - Building for the Future: The Many Facets of Forensic Social Work 
Eligible for up to 13.0 ce credit hours

Forensic social work spans vast practice areas, from civil to criminal, child to adult, and all the legal spaces in between. The theme for The NOFSW 40th Annual Conference theme recognizes our field's broad and diverse range of work: “Building for the Future: The Many Facets of Forensic Social Work.” The 2024 Annual NOFSW Conference will:

*Offer specialized knowledge and skills in unique forensic social work practice areas;

*Share empirical strategies to promote social justice and equity;

*Create synergy to identify innovative solutions to continued forensic challenges;

*Provide opportunities to network and collaborate with forensic social work professionals from around the world.

 

Join us in New Orleans, LA to explore and celebrate these many facets of forensic social work at NOFSW’s 40th Annual Conference!

 

2024 NOFSW Conference Location and Lodging Information

The 2024 NOFSW Conference will be held at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel. On the historic Canal Street streetcar line bordering the French Quarter, the hotel is steps from world-famous restaurants, legendary nightlife, prime shopping.  Booking Website: https://book.passkey.com/e/50546324   Room Rate is $199 per night plus tax.

The Sheraton is currently sold out for the nights of June 24, 25 and 26.  There are many hotels in the area - the closest being across the street at the New Orleans Marriott (504-581-1000) or The Courtyard New Orleans Downtown (504-581-9005) just one block away - with very reasonable rates.  

General Information:

Plenaries, workshops and research presentations will be offered in an in-person format June 24-27, 2024.  

Presenters and/or their organizations will be responsible for registering for the NOFSW annual conference (presenters are eligible to register at a discounted rate) and for any associated expenses, as well as all materials to deliver their presentations. Primary Conference Presenter: $225 NOFSW Member / $300 Non-member; Conference Co-Presenter: $325 NOFSW member / $395 Non-member

Presenters will be expected to provide NOFSW with handout material (PowerPoint slides, poster, reference material, contact information, etc.) in electronic format no later than 6/23/2024.

The National Organization of Forensic Social Work, provider # 1823, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. National Organization of Forensic Social Work maintains responsibility for this course. ACE provider approval period: 07/18/2023–07/18/2026. Social Workers participating in this conference will receive up to 20 continuing education credits
